Everex wlan

The name of Everex was taken from a phrase which proudly 'ever for excellent' and in the field of personal computers, it launched a range of both laptops and PCs. The company was established in the early 1980's out of California and was a world leader in tape backups. They were also renowned manufacturers of hard disk drives, and also created and shipped personal computers out to be sold under other private company labels such as IBM. The company had its shares of problems though, changing management hands and finally filing for liquidation in the mid 90's. It tried to recover with a range of small notebooks, with built in Everex WLAN which did prove popular. In 2008, the company however, was picked up and taken control of by NewMarket Technology, but closed its doors finally in 2009. Everex produced a range of "green" notebooks which were called the CloudBook, the StepNote and the gBook which they will be remembered for. These low cost systems were geared to attract people who could not afford the luxury of spending several hundred dollars of money on a fully fledged laptop. They were designed with efficiency and economy in mind, running as green and environmentally friendly as they possibly could. This did not mean that any power or performance was compromised on, as they were produced with sizeable hard drives, and with Everex WLAN capability, it meant that there were very versatile. The notebooks all used a Linux based operating system. For people who snapped up these environmentally conscious notebooks, which should be still running well, the need for updates is just as important as any other PC or laptop. Part of the fun of the small Everex notebooks is that they are small and can be carried around easily and used to connect to wireless networks. This built in Everex WLAN adds a functionality of portability to those who need it, on a cheaper budget than would be needed for a laptop computer. Despite the company not being in operation anymore, the little powerful notebooks are still perfectly workable. You should still be able to find a Everex WLAN driver update, if you do a search on the internet. There are plenty of options available from where to get one, if you visit the main Everex site, you will be directed to a third party where you will be able to get the updates from. While this means that there may not be any more forthcoming, it will be a good idea to check that you do have everything up to date, as it will allow your CloudBook, StepNote or gBook to keep running well.
