The Presidents Emergency plan for AIDS relief calls for prevention, treatment, and care for people with HIV and children orphaned and made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS. The Emergency Plan works in over 120 countries, with an emphasis on 15 countries in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. These countries, which are home to about 50% of HIV infections worldwide, are Botswana, Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Guyana, Haiti, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam and Zambia. MEASURE DHS offers several survey instruments designed to collect data to monitor progress toward meeting the strategic goals set by the Emergency Plan, international agencies and national governments.
